April Update!
Hello All!Boy, I don't know about you guys, but the "creeping crud" (aka the cold/flu) has hit my family/coworkers HARD! Here's to your good health!
Just a quick update:
* I have many opportunities for people to help out with the Relay, hilighted in italics below. If you can think of a fundraiser you'd like to bring to the group, or have any other P.R. ideas, just shoot me an email at Brandy.Collins@Invitrogen.Com. I'll be glad to hear them!
* We are currently at NINE fantastic members! I have everyone now on the YahooGroups email list. Sorry to just add you but I want to make sure everyone is informed and in the loop. If you would like to switch to your home email, please just let me know.
* Huge HUGE congratulations to KYIA- our fundraising SUPERSTAR! She's leading the team with $105 collected so far in donations. Way to go KYIA!! :)
* I have penny jars situated throughout campus with a flier asking for donations. The money raised from these will go toward larger fundraising efforts. Would you like to help monitor penny-jars in your building?
* First Team Fundraiser is hopefully going to be a RAFFLE! I'm working with Allegra and researching the fundraising guidelines laid out on our company's intranet, Disco. I'll send an email as soon as I have the all-clear to start gathering prizes and donations. By then, we should have enough collected from the penny jars to purchase a roll of raffle tickets. I'm very excited about this and I think it can be a tremendous fundraising opportunity!
* We have the Suns & Moons available and can start "selling" them at any time. We have the all-clear to hang them in the lobby of building D. I also have a giant thermometer poster available to track our progress. Would you like to help with the advertising and selling of the suns & moons? Please email and let me know!
* I'm working with Cathy E. on a new set of posters to hang. We currently have the official Relay-approved posters in the lunchrooms and main bulletain boards. The new set of posters are smaller, still have the tear-off tags so interested parties can easily keep the blog address for reference (and hopefully sign up!) I will be asking permission to hang them in bathrooms, elevators, and lunchrooms around campus as soon as they're finished. Would you like to help hang posters?
* I've also donated a box of candy to put by a Relay flier and collection jar, coming soon to a lunchroom near you! This round will be Building C wiith Hershey Mocha Almond bars. Suggested donation for the Relay for Life is just 50 cents. Would you like to donate a box of candy to do this in another building?
